Power to the weak

He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Wait on The Lord as used in this passage mean:
  • Hope in the Lord,
  • Expect from the Lord
  • Looking eagerly to the Lord
  • Trust in the Lord
  • Depend totally in the Lord
Gods Promise
  • Renewed strength
  • Mount up wings like eagle. God will give you ability to live this life, better than competition
  • Longevity. You are in this for the long term! keep running
  • Focus: walk and not faint because our eyes are fixed on the destination, not the journey
Example of Joshua as he takes wall of Jericho
  • Wait until you receive a signal from the Lord Joshua 5:13-15
  • Study Gods words carefully and make sure you understand his instructions Joshua 6:1-5
  • Must obey His word and His directions. Do what he tells you to do. no arguments and editing. Joshua 6:6-7
  • Involve others and follow the word of the Lord as a community of God Joshua 6:8-16
What can we do like Joshua did to ensure success
  • Keep praises raising to God. God will indwell a praising heart. The priest in you must keep browning the trumpet. don’t stop until the walls come down.
  • You must shout the wondrous works of the Lord. Confessing Jesus as lord and saviour and telling others about what he is doing n your life is a command
  • The of the Lord must go before you and lead you. This means the presence of God must always be with you. stay within the kingdom and don’t walk outside its boundaries
  • When walls come down, you must charge ahead and take the city. you need to be decisive and courageous to take the spoils and do exploits for the Lord. Don’t just look, occupy!
Back to the eagle, what is its secret?

"as swift as the eagle flieth"
Regardless of their feeding habits, eagles are magnificent birds, as stated in the Scriptures.
At the time of the Exodus, the Israelites walked out of Egypt "on eagles’ wings":
  • "Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself." (Exodus 19:4 KJV)
The meaning of The Lord’s "how I bare you on eagles’ wings" is explained further:
  • "As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So The Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with Him" (Deuteronomy 32:11-12 KJV) "But they that wait upon The Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)
